Minor League Trivia

About Minor League Trivia

Minor League Trivia is a daily puzzle and trivia hub built entirely around Triple-A minor league baseball, the highest level of the minors, where a roster is full of players who have either already made their MLB debut on a rehab assignment or call-up, or are one phone call away from it. That mix of familiar names and rising prospects is what makes a Triple-A-focused daily game genuinely fun to guess your way through, whether you follow one big-league team's farm system closely or just enjoy a well-made daily puzzle.

What's on the site

The Daily Grid is the flagship game: a 3x3 grid where each row and column is a real criterion, a Triple-A club, a stat threshold, a milestone, and the challenge is naming a player who satisfies both. Every correct answer is scored by rarity, so a puzzle can be completed many different ways, and some solutions are worth a lot more than others.

Daily Trivia pulls seven fresh multiple-choice questions every day from the same underlying player database as the Grid: team affiliations, stat lines, draft and debut history, and more. Higher/Lower turns seven real Triple-A stat lines from 2001-2025 into a guessing game, where landing the exact number in fewer tries scores you higher. Guess the Nickname covers every minor league level, Triple-A through Single-A, and turns real team facts into clues for guessing famously quirky club names. Every mode resets daily, and every past day is replayable in the Archive.

Where the data comes from

Every player, team, and stat on this site is pulled directly from the official MLB Stats API, covering Triple-A season data currently spanning 2001-2025 (2020 is skipped, no minor league games were played that year), plus team names and affiliations across every full-season minor league level. Puzzles are generated automatically from that dataset, validated so that every cell has at least one real answer, and published fresh each day without manual curation.

The Fun Facts page is different: its team-name origin stories, MiLB history, and baseball slang are hand-researched and individually checked against a real, cited source, not generated from the stats database.

Independent and unaffiliated

Minor League Trivia is an independent fan project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Minor League Baseball, Major League Baseball, or any individual club or organization. Team names, player names, and statistics are referenced factually, the same way sports reference sites, fantasy platforms, and news coverage do every day. No team logos or trademarked branding are reproduced anywhere on the site.
